See what our customers have to say about their experience with EcoGrid and how our products have helped bring their projects to life.
“The EcoGrid XXL is an easy-to-use product; the grids just click together. EcoGrid was selected as it offered the most natural finish for the woodland where it was used. This Mersey Weaver Scouts project used the permeable paving as part of a campfire replacement project; the path and ramp will offer inclusivity to all visitors and scouts who visit Queen Charlotte’s Woods.
I would like to say – thank you to director Sue and Lawrence at EcoGrid, who were most helpful. We will be using EcoGrid paving on other projects around the site, and I look forward to dealing with EcoGrid in the future.”
“Great use of EcoGrid to create two big extensions to a very long driveway and edge all the way down. I was also really pleased with the timber retaining walls I built. Ended up using screws for edge fixing throughout, as plastic did not work out, but the end result for both edge and grids was excellent. Client is very happy indeed.”
“Thank you for your help and advice with our Leicester City Council scheme. I thought you might like to see the results so far as it is looking very good. We were creating a new route up to a higher level using topsoil, which was difficult to consolidate due to the site’s former use as allotments. After looking at several options, we chose a flexible approach with EcoGrid. The path is now in use, and the sides have been soiled and seeded.”
“I am really pleased with how the installation has worked out. Once the grass has fully established, I will share more photos, but the results so far have been excellent. Cutting the grids to shape worked very well, and wastage was minimal as the offcuts could be reused along the curve. The prompt delivery and support from the EcoGrid team made the whole process straightforward.”
“The delivery went smoothly and arrived on time. This was my first time using a gravel grid system, so I carried out plenty of research beforehand. There are many systems on the market, but I kept coming back to EcoGrid and I am glad I did. It is an excellent product that is robust, strong and straightforward to lay. My wife and I installed it ourselves over a single weekend and it was a pleasure to work with.
I am a bricklayer by trade and previously ran my own small building company before retiring a few years ago. Over the last seven years, my wife and I have renovated and extended what was once the ugliest house on the road. We now receive constant compliments, with the front driveway being the final piece to complete the transformation. Our house is now one of the best on the road.
I would not hesitate to recommend EcoGrid. A very good product backed by a great service.”
“Over the last few years, we have carried out a complete sustainable refurbishment of our home. Having seen EcoGrid used successfully in commercial settings, it felt like the right choice for our requirement of a durable, high-quality and permeable driveway solution.
Once the base was prepared, the installation was straightforward and completed within a day, even with several tonnes of decorative gravel added to achieve the finish we wanted.
The EcoGrid system has now been in place for several months and has already experienced heavy traffic while we build an extension. It continues to perform well and still looks great. We are very pleased with the result and would happily recommend EcoGrid as a simple and effective solution.”
“I have used your EcoGrid in a gravel drive location where I felt it would be well and truly tested by oil and coal delivery lorries driving over it. I used it on my own driveway to see how good it would be at standing up to the pressure of lorries that had to do tight 90° turns.
It was excellent, very successful, and I could recommend it to anyone.”
“The EcoGrid ‘sandwich’ method met all of our needs and remains flawless with the same performance even after 12 years in use.
The cost of the installation was less than 50% of what it would have cost with traditional construction methods, and we still save yearly stormwater taxes. Our asphalt and concrete surfaces do not stand up to the elements as well as the EcoGrid, and this permeable solution also saves salting and sanding.”
“We were struggling to find a long-term solution for a couple of customers whose driveways were constantly losing stone chips. One driveway included a roundabout where the gravel was being crushed and needed topping up every few months.
EcoGrid proved to be an excellent solution and was extremely easy to install. One customer is delighted that they no longer have to brush loose chips off the tarmac, as everything is now fully contained within the grid. Another customer is over the moon after saving more than £400 on replacement gravel that was previously being crushed under vehicle weight.
I would highly recommend EcoGrid to anyone considering a gravel driveway or a hardstanding grass area. Communication and advice were excellent from the initial enquiry, and delivery was fast and efficient.”
“Earlier this year, we purchased 90 square metres of EcoGrid for a new disabled parking area at St Saviour’s Church in Thurlstone. The system was installed over a membrane, bedded on sand and hardcore, then filled with topsoil and grass seed to restore the original appearance of an area that had previously become very boggy in wet weather.
The transformation has been excellent. Cars can now park on a firm, stable surface, and wheelchair users can easily access the church entrance via a smooth and user-friendly parking area. Once the grass is fully established, the surface can be maintained with a conventional mower, preserving the natural look while providing space for at least four vehicles and much improved access for less able-bodied members of the congregation.”
“We installed EcoGrid E50 on a low-lying, wet section of dirt road at the range with no ground preparation and left it in place while it was driven over for several weeks. The aim was to see how the system would perform under extreme conditions, including tracked and military vehicles.
Even the bulldozer driver questioned whether we really wanted to test it, as he had previously torn up the surrounding road when turning the machine. Despite this, the EcoGrid held up remarkably well. Any visible marks were above the soil line, highlighting the importance of proper cell infill for long-term performance. The grid remains in place and is expected to stay in the range for many years to come.”
“The EcoGrid system we purchased is being used to stabilise paths that carry visitors across areas of peat bog. Due to the fragile nature of peat, these paths can quickly become churned up and soft under constant foot traffic, leading people to walk around the edges and gradually widen the paths.
We installed a small trial area of EcoGrid around three years ago and it has been extremely successful. The grid forms an almost invisible support that allows natural vegetation to grow through while remaining stable underfoot. It was quick and easy to install, requires no ongoing maintenance and continues to perform well after several years of use.”
